HIBA-HIBA : des objets d’Arts redessinent les contours d’un Art Multiséculaire
La sculpture sur calebasse
Étonnamment légère et paradoxalement remplie de sens, la calebasse est peu représentée dans notre paysage urbain, pourtant liée à toutes les civilisations du monde, elle mérite, à mon sens, de renouer avec sa gloire d'antan, alors je la sculpte. Depuis 4 ans je cartographie les comportements liés à la pratique de ce végétal, sous un aspect historique et botanique, en recherchant les vestiges des arts et objets mystiques ayant laissé une empreinte culturelle et/ou religieuse. Ce travail d'anthropologie nourrit en profondeur mes inspirations en tant qu’artiste-sculpteur et est clairement identifiable dans mon travail.
Métamorphoser de la calebasse dans l'art, la mode et le design est un moyen pour moi de célébrer et de préserver la culture et l'histoire de ce végétal.

The sculpture on calabash
Surprisingly light and paradoxically full of meaning, the calabash is little represented in our urban landscape, yet linked to all civilizations of the world, it deserves, in my opinion, to revive its former glory, so I sculpt it. For the past 4 years I have been mapping the behaviors linked to the practice of this plant, under a historical and botanical aspect, by looking for the vestiges of arts and mystical objects having left a cultural and/or religious imprint. This anthropological work feeds my inspirations as an artist-sculptor and is clearly identifiable in my work.
Metamorphosing calabash into art, fashion and design is a way for me to celebrate and preserve the culture and history of this plant.
