Ilinca Nicodim
Ilinca Nicodim naît en octobre 1965 à Brasov, en Roumanie, où elle passe sa petite enfance chez sa grand-mère maternelle tandis que ses parents vivent à Rome. En 1970, elle s'installe chez ses parents et ses grands-parents paternels à Bucarest. Elle suit des cours particuliers de français dans une école privée et l’année d’après.
C’est en 1985 qu’elle quitte la faculté de droit pour suivre un cursus d'histoire de l'art à la Sorbonne, où elle obtient une maîtrise d'histoire de l'art contemporain. Elle rejoint le département "projets culturels" d'une entreprise pharmaceutique italienne. Après plusieurs projets, Ilinca s’inscrit en 1998 au CELSA, une école française de journalisme et de communication, et obtient une maîtrise en communication. Ne trouvant pas d'emploi dans la communication, Ilinca commence ses premières créations.
Elle continue à créer et s'implique étroitement dans les expositions de ses parents, s'occupant notamment des relations publiques. Après le décès de son père en 2007, Ilinca décide de partager son temps entre Paris et Bucarest où elle commence à travailler dans l'atelier de son père. Elle réalise sa première table en bronze, un projet qu'elle avait souhaité que son père réalise.
Sa première exposition personnelle prend place à la galerie Artmark de Bucarest, en mai 2009. Elle participe ensuite à l'exposition itinérante roumaine "Voyageurs dans l'espace et le temps".
Ilinca Nicodim was born on 27 October 1965 in Brasov, Romania, where she spent her early childhood with her maternal grandmother while her parents lived modestly in Rome. In 1970, she moved to Bucharest to live with her parents and paternal grandparents. She took private French lessons at a public school and the following year she was a French teacher.
In 1985, she left the Faculty of Law to study art history at the Sorbonne, where she obtained a Master's degree in contemporary art history. She joined the cultural projects department of an Italian pharmaceutical company. After several projects, Ilinca enrolled in 1998 at CELSA, a French school of journalism and communication, and obtained a Master's degree in communication. Not finding a job in communication, Ilinca started her first creations.
She continued to create and was closely involved in her parents' exhibitions, especially in public relations. After the death of her father in 2007, Ilinca decided to divide her time between Paris and Bucharest where she started working in her father's workshop. She made her first bronze table, a project she had wanted her father to realize.
Her first solo exhibition took place at the Artmark Gallery in Bucharest in May 2009. She then participated in the Romanian travelling exhibition "Travellers in space and time".
